"Go therefore and teach all nations..."
Why We Go
Matthew 28:18-20 states, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Since Jesus has ALL authority, we must obey His commands.
In Mark 16:15, Jesus commanded us: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." Because He told us to go, we go! God has opened doors for us to preach the Gospel in many places, especially in other nations.
The importance of the work of the evangelist is clearly stated in God's Word. In Ephesians 4:11-16, the Bible tells us, "And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ."
The calling of the evangelist is a special one, interestingly noted in this listing known as the "five-fold ministry" of church leadership. God gives each of us special spiritual gifts, such as those listed in Galatians 5:22, so that we can live according to His Word, and fulfill His kingdom purposes. The special gifting God has placed in His evangelists gives them a strong ability to clearly proclaim and explain the Gospel, and call people to repentance by turning and trusting Christ.
The Gospel is the story of Jesus' birth, sinless life, death on the cross, shed blood for the remission of sins, and resurrection from the grave, thereby conquering sin and death. His sacrifice on the cross, His special designation as Fully God and Fully Man, and His position in the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit - the Three In One) give Him absolute authority in all things. He is Lord of All, and He must be obeyed. As Christians, our focus and goal must be to follow Him and obey Him in everything we say and do.
Where We Go
We have mission work ongoing in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, The Philippines. Through our NEST (National Evangelist Support Teams), God's Word is being preached continually in communities across these countries; discipleship is facilitated through the ministry of these dedicated evangelists and pastors.
We have also been privileged to lead mission teams numerous times to many other countries, including Bangladesh, Brazil, England, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Malawi, Mexico, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Romania, Rwanda, and Ukraine.
When God opens a door for us to go, we pray and ask Him to show us exactly what He wants us to do, where He wants us to go, and how He wants us to manage the mission. We trust His leadership in all things. Through the years, we have seen God do incredible things!
